Getting to Ginzan Onsen

  • By Public Transport

・Nearest City/Station: Sendai / Ohishida (大石田)

・Transportation: If you are going from Tokyo, take the Yamagata Shinkansen to Ohishida Station (大石田駅) which will take approximately 3.5 hours. If you are not taking the bullet train and visiting from Sendai, take the JR Senzan line (仙山線) and get of at the Uzen Chitose Station (羽前千歳) which will take approximately 1 hour.  At the station, take the JR Ou main line (JR奥羽本線) and head to the Ohishida Station (大石田駅) which will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you get to the Ohishida Station (大石田駅) , you can take either a bus or a taxi. There is a possibility that your hotel might have a pick-up service from the station so make sure to check before hand.
