History of Kamogawa Sea World Kamogawa Sea World opened its doors in 1970, and it quickly became one of the most popular aquariums in Japan. At the time of its opening, it was one of the largest aquariums in the world, and it remains a leading attraction today. The park was founded by Mr. Katsutoshi Kurata, who was inspired to create a place where people could learn about the sea and its creatures. Mr. Kurata was deeply committed to marine conservation, and he believed that by educating people about the ocean and its inhabitants, he could help protect them from the threats of pollution, overfishing, and other environmental issues. The park has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years, with the most recent renovation taking place in 2018. The show includes acrobatics, synchronized swimming, and even a few comedy skits that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. Another popular exhibit is the Penguin Parade, which features several species of penguins waddling around in a specially designed habitat that mimics their natural environment. Getting to Kamogawa Sea World

  • By Public Transport
  • Nearest City: Kamogawa, Chiba Prefecture
  • Transportation: From Awa-Kamogawa Station, take a bus or walk to Kamogawa Sea World. An express from Tokyo station will quickly take you to Awa-Kamogawa station. There are also bus services running from Tokyo station and Chiba station which will take you directly to the Sea World.
  • Travel Time: There is a free limousine from Awa-Kamogawa Station which will take you directly to the Kamogawa Sea World.
